The 411 ECM has a 512mb 8bit intel flash with a model number AB28F400B5 but that chip is discontinued and seems to have been replaced by Micron part number MT28F400B5. I have attached the data sheet for this chip. It is very intereting reading... It seem to have 7 memory blocks.
File Attachment(s): MT28F004B5.pdf (524kb) downloaded 15 time(s). Intel-28F400B5.pdf (500kb) downloaded 11 time(s).

Interesting, looking at a pcm i have here, mine has AB28F400BX-B though it's a 2000/2001 pcm i think? PCM Service # = 09354896 would the chips be interchangable. Was there any hardware changes made to the pcm's between the model numbers?

Was there any hardware changes made to the pcm's between the model numbers? Yes the flash chip is interchangeable and there are most likely hardware changes but that will not affect the flash chip. If find a part number that ends in 800 not 400 then you have a PCM with a 1 meg chip. The one meg chips have a slightly different pin-out so you can't use them in 512k PCMs.

what NS response time does the chip need to be for the ls1 controller as there are quite a few specs out on the market.
